Boilerplate
Short (about 40 words)
STBLpay is a payment service under development: buyers pay in yen, and merchants receive the stablecoin JPYC. Buyers approve each payment with a passkey (face or fingerprint), and merchants do not rely on card companies' credit screening.
Long (about 120 words)
STBLpay (すてぶるペイ, pronounced "stable pay") is a payment service under development by Ango-ya LLC of Fukuoka, Japan. Buyers pay in yen, and merchants receive JPYC, a stablecoin pegged to the Japanese yen. Buyers approve each payment with a passkey (face or fingerprint). When their JPYC balance is enough, no bank transfer is needed; when it is not, they issue JPYC with a Japanese-yen bank transfer and pay with it. Merchants receive sales in JPYC without relying on card companies' credit screening. The design is non-custodial: the provider holds no funds or private keys of buyers or merchants. Fees are under consideration, with a single flat rate for all merchants planned and nothing added for buyers. A Sandbox, merchant docs and an OpenAPI 3.1 specification are public.
